Being Busy

It is interesting to reflect on our busy lives. So many things to do, so many places to run to, hurry, hurry, hurry! I see in this 21st century, lives that burn out at age 35, people sick from stress and anxiety, and more families breaking up by the day. Why? I remember when I was a young boy, I could ride my bike, catch firefly’s at night, go fishing at a small pond, collect baseball cards, and spend time in my tree house. A non hurried life, simple, but yet with so many memories. Today with new technology changing every week, it is a fast paced world that we live in. Individuals are constantly fatigued and worn out. And then we get up the next day, and start all over again.

It seems to me that we must learn to slow down, enjoy the simple things in life, and stop constantly trying to be better than someone else. This life is all about peace, joy, and contentment. Reflect on your life today and ask yourself if all this running around is really worth it. Spending quiet moments alone, clearing your mind from the tug of the world, and spending quality time with friends and family is what it is all about. Simplify life, get your balance back, along with slowing down, will give you great joy!
