But though God has planted eternity in the hearts of men, even so, many cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. So I conclude that, first, there is nothing better for a man than to be happy and to enjoy himself as long as he can; and second, that he should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of his labors, for these are gifts from God.

Ecclesiastes 3: 11-13 (Living Bible)

As we look back on our life, it is so important to reflect on if we have enjoyed life, to smile with friends and family members, to enjoy nature and all its beauty, and to see that these are all gifts from God. Our life is filled with many trials and challenges, and we should step back from time to time, and smell the roses, as life is like a vapor, we are here today, and gone tomorrow. Life is to be cherished, and living life with passion and purity, and with a joy unspeakable.

I look back now, at age 54, and see that I have not enjoyed life to the fullest. I was always fearful of doing something wrong, with God’s wrath not far behind. I want my daughter Grace to always remember to enjoy life, be thankful for everything you have, count your blessings, and always give back to your community, and to other people who need help. Recharge your batteries by giving yourself time to rest, time to play, and time to enjoy the playground that God has bestowed to us! God is a good God!

All We Know

He that would live in peace and at ease must not speak all he knows or all he sees.
Benjamin Franklin

It is interesting to note that some individuals, choose to tell everyone in sight, every possible thing that they know and believe in. Sometimes, it is best, to keep some things to yourself, or some people may be offended, and there goes your peaceful world. There are many facets to peace and living in peace, therefore, it may be best at times to keep your peace, when all others around you, are asking for your beliefs and your observations. People have been killed, for saying one wrong thing, at the wrong time.

We all have our views and observations on many subjects, but please make sure, that you are not commenting to someone, who would not take to well to what you are saying. I find that we are living in a world of anger, rage, and violence, and we must be careful with what we say, and at the same time, respecting opinions that don’t quite see your point of view. I want to maintain my peace at all times, and I choose to not allowing another person to steal my happiness, peace, joy, and contentment. Shalom!

Keys To Yourself

Love thyself last, and thou shall grow in spirit
To see, to hear, to know and understand.
The message of the stars, lo, thou shall hear it,
And all God’s joys shall be at thy command.
–Wilcox

Love your neighbor. Love yourself. When you retire at night and when you wake up in the morning send a thought of love to the whole world. When you can sincerely love everything and everybody you will be astonished at the results, for love is the magnet that attracts the best of everything. Love and praise your body, think what a wonderful machine it is and how agreeable it responds to every demand. Your body is the mansion in which your soul and mind reside and should be appreciated and well cared for.

Aim At Heaven

Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in. Aim at earth and you get neither.
C.S. Lewis

The Bible talks about, “seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”  I believe that this is what Mr. Lewis is talking about. When we contemplate God and his wondrous works, our life on earth seems to be a lot smoother. As we get caught up so much in this world, and all of our daily worries and cares, we need to think about heaven and God’s Kingdom on a daily basis. It is so easy to let this slide, and before you know it, we have lost all sight of our glorious Kingdom.

C. S. Lewis reminds us to always seek His Kingdom first, meditate on it, and keep a fresh outlook on life in the Kingdom. I believe it is important to spend time in the Word daily, maybe in the morning or evening, but the bottom line is to spend time in His Word. As you do this, seeking His Kingdom will become a natural fixture in your life, and God will take first place in your life. Seek first His Kingdom!

A Cheerful Heart

When a man is gloomy, everything seems to go wrong: when he is cheerful, everything seems right!

Proverbs 15:15

You know I have come to realize that we have a choice when it comes to having a good attitude or a bad attitude. Also, it is a choice and a decision to be cheerful and happy rather than negative and doubtful. The Bible says that what we think about is what we will become. It took me a long time to understand this, that words are very powerful, and what comes out of your mouth, is in your heart.

It is so much better when you decide to have a cheerful attitude, regardless of what is going on around you. You remain peaceful in the midst of the storm. I see so much fear in the world today and I think we live in a culture of fear. Remaining happy, with a smile on your face, helps in every situation that you might have in your life. Choose today to have a cheerful heart and attitude, and make it a better day for someone who crosses your path. Shalom!
