To Be Loved

I like not only to be loved, but to be told I am loved.

George Eliot

The greatest pleasure that we can have in life is to love someone and for someone to love you. Many people look for things that they think will give them love but they never find it. Why is true love so hard to find? Why are so many people so self-centered? Is unconditional love possible? I believe that a lot of people never accept their partner the way they are! We have this torture of wanting to change that person into the ideal of what we think they should be. Why? Should we not embrace and celebrate the differences that each person brings to the relationship? It seems to me that we have many selfish people.

The Bible teaches that we should love our neighbor as ourselves. It also teaches that we should serve one another and regard people as better than ourselves. Giving is a big part of loving people and showing that you have a very good heart. Can we really find true love that lasts a lifetime? I have not been able to, and I am still keeping hope that there is a person out there for me, even tho, I enjoy my solitude and quiet moments. Where can you have the most peace, married, or single?  We all want peace and contentment in our lives and for some, a committed relationship gives that person peace and they can be very giving, for others, being single gives them great peace, and they can give to friends, family, and the less fortunate. I hope love finds you!

“The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines ever brighter until the full light of day”

(Proverbs 4:18, NLT)

“Are you facing a situation that seems dark today? As a believer, God promises that your path will shine brighter and brighter as you seek His truth and righteousness in every situation. What is righteousness? Righteousness is simply being in right standing with God. Being in right standing with God is about submitting your life to Him. It’s about obeying His commands and seeking His plan for your life on a daily basis. As you seek Him, the light of God’s Word will guide you in every decision you have to make.

No matter what you may be facing today, take time to ask the Lord to shine His light on you. Ask Him to confirm His plan for you. As you continue pursuing His truth and righteousness, as you continue to make His Word a priority in your life, you will experience more of His blessings. You’ll see those brighter days as you move forward in the good plan He has in store for you!”

Who, What, When, Where?

It isn’t what you have, or who you are, or where you are, or what you are doing that makes you happy or unhappy. It is what you think about.

Dale Carnegie

As we go through life, what we think about each day is really what shapes our life. If you think you are nothing, you are nothing. If you are confident in your abilities, you will carry yourself with confidence and a strong future. What you think about shapes your personality, what you do with your life, the friends that you have, and also the direction that your life is destined to be.  It also has to do with your attitude. Every person has the right to choose a poor attitude or a great attitude. Regardless of your circumstances, your attitude shapes the way that you think about every thing in life.

If you think about sadness all day, you will be sad. If you think about giving to people, you will give to many people and be very blessed. If you think about money all day, you will come up short almost every time. If you think about goodness, goodness will come your way. If you think about: “I will never get ahead.”, you will never get ahead. The Bible says that what you think about is what you become. Think positive truths over your life, read your Bible every day, and speak life instead of speaking death. Good thinking is so important for a happy and healthy life! What is in your heart and mind, comes out your mouth…. Ask God for good thinking and a clear mind….

Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul, the blueprints of your ultimate achievements.

Napoleon Hill

In life, it is so important to have dreams and to always keep visions of your dreams as your hope. The way you think about yourself, is the way you will be. Don’t ever give up on your dreams as you keep reaching for the stars. Your dreams enable you to find your gifts and talents. Feed those gifts and talents like you feed yourself physically. Working at things that you are good at, is everything. There is nothing worse than getting up in the morning day after day and hating your job. Many people do that every day, but you are going to find your gifts and talents and enjoy your life to the fullest.

What do you want to achieve in life? What are your passions? You can do it, it just depends on how hard you want to work. Finding your destiny in life takes effort and many hours of soul-searching. I am your biggest supporter, you can do it, you are going to the top of the mountain, your destiny is right around the corner. Go for your dreams, take a chance, and enjoy this life as you find what you were destined to do! Go for it!

Acquiring Knowledge

On learning: “Learn as if you were going to live forever, and live as if you were going to die tomorrow.”

John Wooden

In this day and age it is sad to note that many young people do not care very much about learning. I was taught to read books and take an interest in things around you. There is great joy in gaining knowledge and having a passion for life. Every day is a gift, every moment is an opportunity to enjoy this wonderful earth. It was said that Benjamin Franklin had over 4000 books in his personal library. During those days, people would read for hours at a time. To me, reading gives me peace and enjoyment at the same time. Read books on things you enjoy and things you are interested in.

We live in a very diverse nation. There are more cultures in the United States than at any other time in history. This should be a terrific time for us to learn about other cultures. We can learn from each other and respect our different cultures that are all around us. As an educator, I see the students who are reading and the one’s who are not. It is true that knowledge is power and it is good to have knowledge on many different topics. It gives you a great sense of accomplishment and in turn you can share your knowledge with your friends and loved ones. Learning is enjoyable!

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts”
(Isaiah 55:9, NIV)

“Have you been praying and standing on God’s Word for something and you haven’t seen the results yet? The scripture says in John 11 verse 6, “When Jesus heard that Lazarus was sick, He stayed where He was two more days.” One translation says, “He sat down.” Don’t you know that was the opposite response that Lazarus’ family was looking for? “Jesus, don’t sit down when we need You the most.” In other words, “God, don’t sit down when my finances are this low.” “Don’t sit down when my problems are this big.” But in the end, God not only healed Lazarus, He raised him from the dead!

Your mind may be telling you it’s over, it’s too late, it’s never going to happen. No, you’ve got to know there is a reason for the delay. God is planning something greater. You’re thinking of a healing. He is thinking of a resurrection. You may be thinking how can I just survive, but God is thinking how you can thrive. Remember, His ways are higher than your ways, and you can trust that He is going to amaze you with His goodness in every area of your life!”

(Joel Osteen)

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves.

Philippians 2:3

“We live in a world that is enamored with “self.” The culture around us teaches us to focus on our appearance, feelings, and personal desires as the top priority. The goal, it seems, is to chase the highest level of happiness possible. The danger from this kind of thinking, however, becomes painfully apparent once inside a committed relationship. “Love does not seek its own.” (I Cor 13:5) True love looks for ways to say “yes.” The bottom line is that you either make decisions out of love for others or love for yourself.

Love also leads to inner joy. When you prioritize the well-being of your mate, there is a resulting fulfillment that cannot be duplicated by selfish actions. Remember, your partner also has the challenge of loving a selfish person. So determine to be the first to demonstrate real love to them, with your eyes wide open. And when all is said and done, you will both be more fulfilled.”
